REDEFINING OUTFITTING

Now offering Hunts in WISCONSIN & KANSAS!

Booking a hunt with Home Grown Outfitters is a unique and differentiating experience. You immediately become a friend of the entire Home Grown staff and can contact us at any point throughout the Summer and Fall months leading up to your hunt.  You can even come out to the lodge in the summer months and crack open a few beers and talk hunting; we’d love to have you.

The moment you arrive at camp our guides will immediately begin discussing strategies with you and hit list bucks you’ll be hunting.  The list can be get pretty lengthy so it’s important to spend time with your guide in advance to go over all of the bucks on the hit list and do not shoot list.  At Home Grown, we believe in growing giant deer so there will be certain deer on the do not shoot list. This ensures each deer has the ability to become mature so that every year there is a good class of mature bucks for each client to target.

When it comes time to hunt you’ll be hunting in comfort it is hard to find elsewhere.  All of our properties are loaded with over-sized Redneck blinds and River’s Edge ladder stands.  We do not put our clients in anything else, unless requested. We believe that if you are investing in us, we should invest in you and provide the top of the line comfort.

2023 HUNTS

WISCONSIN

NO HUNTERS.  All client farms will be shut down & off limits to hunters in 2023, as we implement our first off-year.  We will still plant all food plots, improve our farms through habitat projects, monitor activity, and hunt frequently with cameras but we will not be punching tags on our client farms.  This will have a significant age class impact to our farms and and provide even better trophy hunting in the future.

This is just one of the many unique & innovative tactics we bring to the outfitting industry to ensure the highest quality hunts for our clients possible.  We do not hunt our farms every fourth year (2023, 2027, 2031, etc.)

ABOUT YOUR HUNT

The Hunt

All hunts are fully-guided by our experienced team of licensed guides. You will hunt in one of our many over-sized Redneck Blinds or River’s Edge ladder stands, so be prepared to hunt in comfort. Transportation to and from the stand each day is provided, as well as the care of your animal.

Animal Care

As part of your hunt cost, we will take care of the entire de-boning process for you prior to your departure. State laws prohibit the transportation of wild game with bones still in the meat across state lines. If you harvest an animal on the last day of your hunt or you need to leave shortly after your harvest, we will work directly with you to mail you your meat and antlers.  We do have local taxidermists we can recommend should you want to leave your trophy behind to get mounted. *Kansas hunts will have basic animal care included, but you will be responsible for your animal meat processing and post-field care.

Meals

All meals included. We will have an opening night luxurious dinner prepared by our award winning chef, Chris.  This is our kick off meal to the hunt and has become a client favorite.  For all other days of the hunt, we will provide a quick continental breakfast & coffee in the morning, packed lunches and beverages during the day, and family style meals in the evening.  Alcohol is on your own. Kansas Hunts will have basic meals included during your hunt.

Lodging

(WISCONSIN) You will stay in the comfort of one of our two lodges.  Our main 5 star lodge is nestled in a secluded valley in Nelson, WI while our satellite lodge sits atop a beautiful ridgetop in Urne, WI.  Both lodges come fully stocked with bathroom essentials and multiple brand new oversized washer and dryers to wash your gear in the evenings.

Licenses

WISCONSIN

Out of state licenses for Wisconsin run approximately $200 and may be bought over the counter at the time of booking. All hunters must possess a valid license at the time of arrival and demonstrate an ability to safely & accurately fire their weapon.

KANSAS

Out of state licenses for Kansas must be awarded via the lottery. You must put in an application during the spring of the current year and be awarded your tag for that season. (UNIT information?) Hunters will typically be awarded and Non-Resident tag every other year. To alleviate any tag issues, hunters will be able to book a spot at our Kansas camp every other year. Example, if you hunt in 2024, you will then not be eligible to hunt again at our Kansas location until 2026 (You would in that case buy a preference point in 2025).

Gear

Standard hunting gear is recommended for your hunt.  All blinds are set up with chairs in them already, and all ladder stands have safety ropes waiting for you at the base of the tree to help you safely get in.

Our guides will be in contact with you prior to your hunt to address any unanswered questions about your hunt.
